Problem:

When you send an Office 2007 docx, xlsx, etc. file attachment in Eudora 6 or 7, the recipient receives the file without the trailing "x" on the attachment file. Thus, the file will not open correctly until the x is added back to the file extension.

Solution:

Close Eudora

Locate and make a backup of Eudora.ini
Open Eudora.ini
Delete the entire [Mappings] section, ONLY the [Mappings] section. (BE CAREFUL)
Save and Close Euroda.ini

Locate and make a backup of deudora.ini
Open deudora.ini
Directly under the [Mappings] section, and before all the other entries, paste the settings below.

both=docx,,,,
both=docm,,,,
both=dotx,,,,
both=dotm,,,,
both=xlsx,,,,
both=xlsm,,,,
both=xltx,,,,
both=xltm,,,,
both=xlsb,,,,
both=xlam,,,,
both=pptx,,,,
both=pptm,,,,
both=potx,,,,
both=potm,,,,
both=ppam,,,,
both=ppsx,,,,
both=ppsm,,,,
both=sldx,,,,
both=sldm,,,,
both=thmx,,,,

It should look like this:
[Mappings]
<the settings above>
<then the original data>
